Ping Golf Clubs for less!
Ping golf clubs new G10 series irons are their latest endeavour to create the ultimate easy to hit club. These new Ping Golf Clubs are loaded with design features to try and make the game easier for you. This includes things like weighting low in the toe that boosts forgiveness and stability. The launch angle has been increased by a wider sole that also aids in forgiveness upon contact with the ground. They have engineered a higher MOI (moment of inertia) into these Ping Golf Clubs which gives you more distance and forgiveness.

Ping has also brought back the CTP or (custom tuning port) to produce more consistent ball speeds. Something else new from them this year is their AWT (Ascending Weight Technology) in the shafts of their irons.  Lighter long iron shafts create more club head speed and a higher

trajectory, heavier shafts in the shorter irons create lower trajectory for optimal ball control.

By tweaking the total off-set of the longer irons there engineers have made them very forgiving, while removing some offset in the shorter irons to increase control. As always the Ping golf club designers have pushed the envelope and presented players with a selection of clubs that are geared toward providing the best possible performance for a full gamut of playing abilities.

Ping offers a vibration dampening insert (Cushin Selective Filtering Insert) in their steel shafted clubs. Any vibrations created at impact are dissipated, reducing the stress on bone, muscle and connective tissue. A secondary benefit of this option is it produces better feel and added control. I had this option in my i3 blades and believe me when I say they really work. I would recommend them for everyone. The added cost is worth every penny.

My Thoughts:  Ping Golf’s new G10 irons are very solid, long, straight, have great feel, and play as good as they look. If there were any doubt as to how good they are; these ping golf clubs are in the bags of several PGA, Senior PGA, and LPGA tour players. Just because they’re game improvement irons I wouldn’t let my ego get in the way. I chose the Ping i10 irons because I prefer the slightly smaller clubhead and I like to work the ball.

When you first look at the new G10 driver you may think that there is very little about it that has changed other than the new paint job. You would be correct, to an extent. The changes are very subtle but they have made a world of difference. They have tweaked the geometry of the club so the face is taller. This has produced a larger hitting area and superior ball velocities from the increased MOI. The results are superior forgiveness on off-center hits and increased distance.

Comparing the G10 to the G2 and G5 drivers, there is little noticeable difference. However, major changes in design and construction have gone into the new G10. A change that has really improved the performance of this Ping Golf Club is how they have reallocated the weight distribution. By carefully selecting areas of the crown and using thinner material for their construction Ping engineers were able to distribute more weight lower and further back in the head. These subtle changes have increased the launch angle, reduced spin and raised the MOI. The results are a great looking superior performing golf club.

When all is said and done one question that seems to come up most frequently is whether Ping’s new G10 is worth moving up to. Well although the changes are small and almost unnoticeable they have made a significant improvement. The small changes in weight allocation and construction have combined to produce a driver that brings a major enhancement in ball speed and forgiveness. It’s very hard to find anything negative. Some may consider the fact that this Ping Golf Club likes to produce a straight ball flight a negative, but what more could you ask for? The solid performance, blazing ball speed and superior forgiveness that the G10 delivers make it an awesome choice from Ping Golf Clubs.
