Titleist Driver Review-How To Gain Distance and Accuracy Quickly and Easily
Titleist Drivers Deliver more Distance and Accuracy
Titleist Drivers -finally the word is getting around about the best new club to hit the market. I’ve been saying it since I demoed one a while back. The Titleist Driver 907 D2 is easily the most forgiving easy to work club I have ever used. I’m very surprised it has taken this long for the word to get around.
Have you seen Golf Magazine's club test on new drivers? If not let me save you some time and money.
In their club test they had twelve guys tee up six clubs. They were; Mizuno MX-560, Nike SQ Sumo2, Ping G10 draw, Srixon Z-RW, TM Burner and the Titleist Driver was the 907 D2. The Titleist Driver 907 D2 was a clear cut winner with an impressive 5 out of 5 stars. What made the difference for the 907 D2 were its good looks, great feel and its overall playability. That is exactly what I loved about this Titleist driver as well. Looking down at the 460cc head you wonder how you can work the ball with it. (At least that’s what I was thinking) But to my surprise working the ball left or right was incredibly easy. Their testers found that it has a low penetrating ball flight which it does. However I found that I could also control the trajectory very easily as well, by how high I teed my ball. I was a die-hard R7 quad guy until I test drove the Titleist Driver 907 D2. I was averaging 283 yards with my R7. When I demoed the Titleist Driver I was averaging 295 yards. The 12 yard increase in distance was enough justification for me to purchase a new Titleist Driver.
Back to the Club Test
The testers were average guys just like you and I. They ranged in age from 33 to 71; their handicaps were from 3 to 20, of the swing speeds that were shown 98mph was the highest. Here’s what they had to say about the 907 D2;
- “Pros: big enough head to instil confidence but still looks like a player’s club; addictive feel has you reaching for the next ball; one of a few clubs that begs to be worked; alignment aid gets you square at address; lower ball flight than most others; everything works together, head feels substantial during swing and solid on contact; forgiving enough for low handicappers; testers prefer its sleek, classic look to odd-shaped heads; miss-hits go well enough distance wise”.
- “Cons: Mid-handicappers find misses are punished more than some others tested; not as directionally forgiving as others”. (I say if you put a bad swing on any club you’re not going to get the results you want)
My driving accuracy has also improved with the new big stick. I was only hitting about 44% of the fairways before I got the Titleist driver, but in the 14 rounds that I used it I was hitting 62% of the fairways, that is a substantial improvement over my R7.
Titleist Drivers!
Like I said before I can’t believe it’s taken this long for the word to get around about how incredible this club is. They are right on the mark with this club. Don’t get left behind by your competition, add a few yards to your tee shots get a new Titleist Driver.
