Golf GPS Systems | Who is # 1

 

There are a number of golf gps systems on the market today. So choosing the one that suits you best has become a little more difficult. When you compare them all, (which I have) each one has its pros and cons. So in the end it will come down to your personal preferences. They all have the basics; like distance measuring (Measure your shots), distances to the front, center and back of the green.

The Golflogix by Garmin boasts ease of use because there are no buttons to push. Just turn it on and play. It is however made by Garmin a world leader in GPS. It’s fast, small and accurate.

The Golf-Buddy has score tracking, a color screen, but what is impressive about it is that it’s preloaded with all available courses in North America! It is also Multi-lingual.

The Sonocaddie has a few more features and a color screen (V300). You can personalize course information and change reference points on the course. It actually lets you track your round with waypoints. And there is a digital score card built in.

The uPro Golf GPS is the latest one to hit the market. Believe me when I say this baby has All the bells and whistles. It actually has a fly-over of the hole in play (If you purchase Pro-mode downloadable courses). It has no annual fees but you do have to buy downloads. This system is based on satellite imagery.

I first purchased a sky caddie SG2 about 6 years ago. I was the first person at our course to own one. It was a very good unit. I received excellent customer service when I had trouble with it. My Sg2 was 3 years old and wouldn’t stay on. I had to send it in for repair, but I received a brand new one no question asked! Now I own an SG4 which I purchased before the SG5 came out. It works just as well. My only complaint about it is that the battery is getting weak and won’t take a full charge (I have used it for around a 120 rounds).
